Scorpion's Gate is a must read (Audio CD)

It seems by the other reviews, people either Love or Hate Mr Clarke and or Scorpion's Gate.
I'm reviewing the AUDIO EDITION, "NOT" the book! So any short comings in writing style may have been over come by an excellent reading. Yes, there are both technical and writing errors but hell Clancy isn't the living in the real world either. Character development is weak but it's Mr. Clarke's ideas that are the heart of this book.

This is truly a well thought out scenario!
Although Clarke seems to show his age by drawing on the Cuban Missile Crisis as a model for his crisis. Most readers will only see comparisons to current events.

My only complaint is it seems a little to "BEST CASE"!
It's unrealist in that there is "NO REAL COST" to the "USA" or it's Allies for the "incompetency" of their actions. But than again maybe not!

One other point, Mr. Clarke has worked in those "secret rooms"
not just been given the "red light" "special tour".
This should be read by all players ("principles") inside the beltway.

not bad for a first effort! beats anything i could ever create!
kinda confusing, in terms of the many acronyms, numerous cast of characters, etc.
but enjoyable, nontheless. worth reading, for sure.

Disappointment is normal, who knew?

This is the first book I ever read that deals head on with the challenging topic of what to do if things don’t go the way you want them to in a relationship. The Authors dedicate a whole segment covering what to do with the inevitable disappointments. What I liked most about it was that it pointed out that challenges in relationships are normal and that everything does not have to be perfect all the time in order for a relationship to be a good one. This gave me a renewed sense of hopefulness that challenges can be worked through and they offered great ideas as to how to face them.

Makes GoPro easy to use!

Thumbed through a friend’s copy the other day, and just had to buy one for myself.

Awesome book. What impresses me most about this book is how well the writer simplifies using the camera. GoPro’s are not the easiest cameras to use, and the online instructions are pretty bland, but this book makes it easy.

What I like best is how John Carucci illustrated the book with situations that are accessible to most people, as opposed to some extreme action. There are a few of that kind in the book, but most are cool situations that the novices can easily do without killing themselves.

I also admire the examples that are less about the action and more about great composition. GoPros can be used for great compositions every bit as much as an action shot. Favorite ones include a little boy walking though a fountain and a weird perspective of a curly-haired dog. There are also some action shots that are cool, like a kid on a BMX and an underwater swimmer.

The writing style is easy-going and at times funny. But more importantly the author gets to the point when it comes to understanding everything from the GoPro App, Protune, mounting the camera, and editing your movie.

If you want to get started on mastering your GoPro, you can’t go wrong with this book.

An All-encompassing Guide to GoPro

This book is very helpful for those technically challenged like myself. It came in handy when I had to decide which one to buy for my brother for Christmas. The book states the differences between the various models and also offers photo tips for the novice photographer/filmmaker. It's an all encompassing guide that even covers how to best open the package! And the shooting and editing tips can make even the technically challenged into future Steven Spielbergs. Thanks GoPro guy!

SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Very disappointing. I have bought many "Dummies" books on a variety of subjects and this was far and away the most disappointing of the group.
This book is filled with "canned" sections and comments about photography and film making. These sections could have been written about ANY DSLR or ANY video camera. If you are expecting a lot of information and insight into the Go Pro cameras this is not the book for you. "Dummies" books are by definition VERY basic and mostly for beginners but this doesn't even meet that standard.
The one section of this book that is very good is the section on Wi-fi and pairing your camera with your I-phone or other mobile device.

I ordered this book as a source for a research paper for college. It is exactly what I needed and will now become one of my main sources for the topic of contextualization. This book would be excellent for the mission major, as at the end of each chapter, all sources are cited, great for a spidering search. My professor was excited about the book, as it is required reading before he begins his doctorate studies. I would recommend it to any missions student. Highly relevant information, you will definitely use it for any research.

Arrived promptly and with the access code! Can't really complain too much. The online resources are extremely helpful. Also a little thing to know is that if you buy it new (or used with an online code) you CAN access the ebook version of it ONLINE. So you get both a physical book and an online e-book, which, is VERY convenient to have ESPECIALLY if you're "required" to bring in your text to class every week.

Good first semester book

I can honestly say this is a good book for your first semester of nursing school. I know a lot of my classmates would disagree with me, but I feel that the majority of my questions could be answered from this book. My only complaint is that sometimes this book goes in to so much detail about subjects that you'd think you were going to school to be a physician instead of a nurse. There are also a few things that contradicted what is in the current NCLEX books, but if you are actually reading all of your books, it's easy to point out what's no longer evidence based practice or current.

I like the content of the book though

this book is very thick and heavy!! i use it for my nursing school and it was hard for me to bring the textbook wherever i go. i wish it came in two volume sets. I like the content of the book though. they were very specific and easy to understand. i like how they give examples of scenario and what a nurse should do so. sometimes few chapters can be so dragging because to me it seems like the explanations are redundant. however i still would recommend this.
